This morning, I had coffee with my friend Heather. Can you believe we've known each other for almost a year, and have NEVER met?!!? Heather and her family relocated to the Bangor area from Tennessee in August (is that right Heather? - I forget). We got to know each other via a small Yahoo bulletin board - and hit it off - and have been emailing and IM'ing each other often.
OK - they have been here since August - and we're only what .... 35 miles from each other (tops) - what in the world kept us from meeting!? You typical things .... busy mommy syndrome :), schedules, new routines, OODLES AND OODLES OF SNOW, storms, colds, flu, yadda yadda yadda ... but FINALLY, we had a chance to actually get together for some good old fashioned STARBUCKS - :) - and she's a Dunkin Donuts devotee :).
Man... we had such a great time talking. Not that we haven't in the past, but you know how good it feels to actually get together with another adult when you're surrounded by little ones all day. We love the little ones - God bless them :) - but a Mommy needs a little interaction too. It was GREAT to finally truly meet my friend!!!! :)
After a good hour and a half, we had to take off. Miss Cate was with .. and it had past her nap time, and she was preparing to blow. :) I'm happy to say however, that I'm sure it's not the last meeting between friends :)
