Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Would refraining from screaming at the top of my lungs when I saw our refrigerator sitting in the living room count as a 'tackle'?!! Just kidding - well, no, the fridge WAS in our living room - however, the first coat of primer went on the kitchen floor last night. Jay stayed up late to make sure the girls didn't get in it - he only had to contend with one curious kitty :). No screaming - well, maybe out of joy, because I know we have only a couple more steps to complete our project.

On a lighter note, my tackle for the day, is to head to the nursery, and pick out some flowers and tomato plants with the girls and GET THEM PLANTED ! :)

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Peak down at our posts from the weekend. I think that's enough tackling for now :). Today, I'm going to continue with the fact that half of my kitchen is in our living room, and keeping it manageable until this weekend when we get the paint on the floor.

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I love Tuesdays. Since finding 5 Minutes for Moms, I visit almost daily. I love their topics, I appreciate their goals, AND - I love Tackle it Tuesdays! - It is the one way that I recuperate from our weekends. Sometimes I come up with a project, but pretty much, I use it as a reminder on Mondays when I'm gaping at a sink full of dishes and toys that went out of control, that I can 'rest' Monday and get to it Tuesday. And so - that is one of those days - a 'get to it day' for me :).

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Yes... it's Tuesday ... AGAIN!

Yesterday, I tackled A LOT. I went through closets and drawers and separated clothes again ...save for Cate, save for Ang, give away, put away for winter, etc. I've got the back of the Explorer full of bags to donate. YEAH!! I'll continue today. We haven't seriously done this since we moved - and it's about time!!

My other tackle today, is to start my 'home improvement notebook'. We moved into a 1930's four square almost 2 years ago. We've started some improvements ... got sidelined with a pregnancy, new baby, car repairs :) - and we're getting ready to hit it again this summer. We've got lots of ideas, samples, photos, etc, but I need to make a list room by room (yes, our house needs LOTS of improvement to make it 'home' and us. So - I've got a new spiral to jot notes and such in ... I'd like to start that today.

Another tackle ... to NOT get majorly depressed that they are forecasting another 6 - 12 inches of S-N-O-W this Thursday. Grrrrrr

Happy Tuesday everyone!!

Once again ... I have plenty of things to tackle - but my MAIN accomplishment was transitioning the girls closet. I sorted through all their clothes. Packed away hand-me-downs from Lexi to Cate - sorted Cate's old things into a pile to pass on to my niece if she has a girl ... and donations. I also transitioned their heavier winter clothes - although with the extra 3 inches of snow this morning, I have to second guess my actions! Isn't it the first day of SPRING?!

Good luck to the rest of you tacklers!!

I've learned it's a good rule not to post about your 'tackles' until you have tackled them :). Last week .... I posted before ... did I finish ... ummmm, not so much :).

This morning, Lexi and I 'tackled' our infamous playroom. After a long and hard day of playing, it was a wreck. NOTHING like it was to our tackle a few weeks ago ... but still .... you had to shove things to make room to play. We picked up EVERY last piece .... and it's good as new ... or was ... because the clean floor has been an inspiration for some heavy morning play by Lexi and Cate. So ... not so tidy anymore, but in much better shape then it was!!!

I've thrown two loads of laundry in, washed Lexi's Doodle Bear, paid some bills, balanced our checking account, and the clock on my computer says 9:59am :).

Not so bad for an early Tuesday morning. I've got other tasks to tackle ... but I'm off to the kitchen to make some pumpkin muffins for snack. I think we deserve a treat!! :)

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

"This is raw, blogging vulnerability."

Believe me .. there are plenty of things to tackle in this house today. I am pleased to say that our task last week (cleaning the playroom) was a HUGE success - Lexi (4 yrs) even THANKED me (seriously). She has become OBSESSED with keeping it clean (to the point it's bordering annoying SOMETIMES - I NEVER thought I would say that!!). I love it! it has become a useful part of our home again!

NOW ... on to TODAY. I have lots I want to accomplish today - but my tackle is to clean off my desk, the cedar chest in in the dining area, and yes, the dining table that has been dubbed 'resting' place for homeless items in the house this week.

Check back - and hopefully I'll have the before and after photos posted before the END of the day!!! :)

Tackle It Tuesday

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I LOVE this idea from 5M4M (Five Minutes 4 Moms). It gives me ONE day to set aside to complete a task. Complete it or not .. it gives me a day to focus on it .. and not feel overwhelmed the rest of the week to work on it when I have oodles of other things to do.

The problem with today - is that there are so many things I could tackle :). The play room is HORRENDOUS. I think the girls have dragged EVERY piece of toy out of its place - PLUS, we put up the castle tent as well - so it is in dire need of some tackling.

I would LOVE to have something fun to tackle, but there always seems to be something around the house that should take priority. My desk is always a spot for improvement. I also have folded laundry on the dining table - but hey, it's folded right? That is a cinch to tackle. SO - I think I will put some time and energy into organizing the toys - which seems so useless, because in no time, they are strewn across the room again. I really need to figure out a 'system' because the system I had compiled isn't working.

Any ideas anyone? I know less is more - so I'm thinking of packing up some and perhaps rotating them. At least the little things. I also need to weed out the toys that are too young for Cate. Now that there is a little Skifstad on the way, there is an incentive to weed out our favorites to pass on. Especially the NOISY ones :) Right Ang?! :)

I'm sure this won't be the last time you read about me tackling the playroom on Tackle it Tuesday :) Wish me luck.
