We played outside for about two hours this afternoon. This is THE FIRST TIME Cate has set foot in the snow. The temps since Christmas have been way too cold for the girls to get much quality time in outdoors. When the thermometer approached 40 we gathered up the snow gear and headed out. The snow is still WAY above Lexi's hips - but we have a large portion of the yard plowed out (the Maine way ... go figure) that creates a great area to play, not to mention the sledding hill that was created - just the right size for Lexi.
Cate did MUCH better than I thought she would. She wondered around, and did a great job navigating in her snow gear and boots. The mittens even stayed on ... which is a major feat for a 15 month old :).
We followed animal tracks in the yard - we identified birds, rabbits and Gentle (our stray cat that visits our house). We even got the balls and slide out for the girls to play with. Our neighbor took off with his plane on the river - skis and all - Lexi LOVED seeing that and enjoyed watching as he flew over our house.
