Winter Weather Advisory! :)

Updated: 3:30 am EST on January 8, 2007

Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 4 PM EST this afternoon...
Today Snow...changing to rain this afternoon. Snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches. Highs in the upper 30s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph this afternoon. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Well golly, there IS snow in Maine :) - unfortunately, in true Maine tradition, it has been followed by nothing other than .... rain ... of course.

Lexi caught wind of the snow when she woke up this morning coming down the stairs. She immediately wanted to go outside. Knowing that it was later going to turn to rain, we got her gear out and out the door she went. She was outside for a good hour and a half .... reveling in the big snowflakes - and in the end, trudging in what was the start to the gross rain we've come so accustomed to.

While she was out, she managed to roll three HUGE snowballs to build a snowman. May I emphasize again ... she did this ALONE :) - and proceeded to request my help to assemble our new lawn friend. She did a great job collecting the items for the face and such and directed me as to where to place the items .... the head was too high for her to reach :) I'm including some fun photos of her morning in the snow. After coming in, we enjoyed hot cocoa, and goldfish :)

Those white blobs are snowflakes my flash caught :)Lexi LOVES catching snowflakes on her tongue :)
