Yep - we've been hit - by the annual cold in our house. Well ... the girls only, but when it hits them.... it might as well hit us :) - we may not be achy and feverish - but we've got plenty of goop deposited on us, and have spent a few sleepless nights this week.Poor Lexi - she headed back to school after winter break on the 17th. The following school day was a SNOW day, because we had a bit of a snow squall. She came down with a cold the end of the week and it progressed all weekend and lead us to the doctor Monday morning to find out she has an ear infection. OUCH. She is doing MUCH better and rip raring to go back to school TOMORROW!!! (Friday).
Miss Cate - what Lexi is getting over, Cate is now getting. She is miserable. Doesn't know what she wants. I can't blame her. She is still in good spirits, and can still laugh and giggle along when Blues Clues is on :) Sleeping and napping on the other hand, well, I won't talk about it! On top of that ... she's getting two new teeth - as in just breaking through - so she's getting it from all sides. Thankfully, she isn't running a temp - just gunky in the nose and throat and a lose cough.
That's what I hate the most about this time of year - not the snow - not the cold temps - but the crud that passes from classroom, to classroom, gym to gym, nursery to nursery, friends to friends. Yuck. Here are well wishes to all our friends who are also down with one form of crud or another!
OK - not to sound depressing or whiny - I'm just telling it like it is!!! ("Dont'cha know") I always remember to tell myself ... this too shall pass.
The upside, it's too cold to go out and do anything - so we hunker down with hot cocoa, popcorn, juice and snacks and wait it out.
