Lexi is doing great. She started back to preschool yesterday after a long spring break and vacation to Minnesota. She started at the University of Maine twice a week in the mornings this past January. She loves her teachers and friends and has learned quite a lot. Her favorite things at school are show and tell, snack time ("when they have jellybeans"), calendar time (she can name the months of the year and days of the week) and spending time on the playground. She is a great big sister to Cate. She looks out for her and has even tried her hand at feeding her and changing her pants. Lexi is as inquisitive as ever. Thank goodness we can get outside and play more often now that the weather is warming up. She is really into bugs - and enjoys trying to trap ants on the sidewalk and hunt for cocoons. She is NOT fond of spiders. She hasn't been in our playroom in ages except to tote her toys into the living room since she found a spider hiding out. Lexi is beginning to read short sentences. It's exciting to sit down with her and have her pick out the words in her books. It's incredible how fast they grow and the level of development they take on so quickly.
